-Departure 9AM
-Breakfast at the Farmers Market Cafe. There was nothing Farmers Market about it, but there was stuffed dear heads and sweet iced tea
-Went next door to the Tucker Pecan Company where they shell nuts. Looked around the gift store
-Did a geocache but the cache wasn't there. However we did find a hornets' nest
-Arrived in New Orleans around 3pm
-Lunch at the Cochon butcher. The hot sauces and pickled ginger were delicious
-Back at the hotel we took advantage of the pool
-Checked out the Turkish Steam room and of course made use of the bath robes
-Voodoo Museum. Very creepy, the priest told us about his giant lizards upstairs that take no prisoners. He calls his apartment the "House of pain" (which I don't get, cause its really an apartment)
-Walked along the Mississippi and listened to an old man sing 'Dock of the Bay' and other blues songs (he was wicked good)
-French Market Restaurant. Recommended by a local who walked, but the food was just meh. The fried alligator didn't taste unlike chicken fingers (minus the texture). I (Greg) was the only one crazy about the Gumbo and the Catfish Effoulette* (sp).
-Walked down Bourbon street at night. It was PACKED! Drunk people and strip clubs everywhere. I guess it was just another Friday night on Bourbon street
-Bought some local beer and went back to the Windsor Hotel to play dominoes
