- Sam got up early to purchase his bike
- Greg cooked up chorizo and eggs for breakfast
- loaded the van and said goodbye to Greg's family
- stopped in Phoenix to visit Mario; saw his house, drove around his high school, Brophy, went for lunch at Pane Bianco, and Sam, Roman, and John played Dominoes while Greg slept
- had dinner at Panda Express along the road
- arrived at our hotel in Santa Monica, the Fairmont Miramar
- walked down the beach to the Santa Monica Pier, where Roman dominated a ball toss game and won a Lakers flag (we planned to do bad things to it but never followed through)
